Tango Canyon, AZ

Rating: 3A - III
Longest Rappel: ≈ 75'
Tango canyon is in the Superstition Mountain Wilderness and is the third canyon in a string of three in this area. Route finding to Tango can be difficult, but careful study of a map before hand will get you on track. The views of the Superstitions while in route are amazing and once in Tango they continue as a great backdrop for the day. We encountered several pools on this trip, but we were able to bypass all of them without getting terribly wet just a splash here and there. Once through the canyon is was a long, but nice hike up fish creek back to the car and if you pay attention along the way you will encounter a mine on creek right where someone has brought in power tools and made a crawl space into the mountain. The mine looked fresh while we were there so be careful, people are crazy for the lost Dutchman gold.
