Bear Canyon is a great route just outside of Camp Verde, that contains a handful of rappels that leads to a beautiful section of Clear Creek where you can unwind and enjoy lunch while watching the trout swim around. Be prepared for COLD water swimming year round in at least a couple pools that you will drop into. Once you have had time to relax at the edge of clear creek, start to make your way up the steep exit trail back to your car. The good news is, that for the most part you are shaded by canyon and trees on the hike back to the car and should find it easy going on the well defined trail to the top.
