Wilbur canyon in the Coconino National Forest just outside of Camp Verde, is a great scenic trip that drops you into a beautiful section of Clear Creek. We completed this trip in about 4 hours car to car with (2) 100' ropes between the group and a handful of your typical gear (webbing, rap rings ect...). Our groups route in and out is sometimes referred to as the "Sneak Route" as it is a direct entry and semi aggressive exit that gets you in and out of the canyon quickly, avoiding a longer trek down the notoriously slick bottom of clear creek. The canyon itself had some great rappels, a few down climbs, and one mandatory cold swim the day we went.
